TALK:  Artist, Dan Elborne
    Sunday 15 March
    2pm to 3pm
$10.00 (all proceeds to White Wreath Association)

Join A Fierce Hope artist Dan Elborne to discuss his performance artwork 48 hours, 24 minutes, 15 seconds which responds to the work of White Wreath Association, an enterprise focused on establishing safe haven centres to support people at risk of suicide.

Dan Elborne highlighted the volume of this ongoing crisis, making a handmade terracotta piece every 40 seconds (the world suicide statistic), representing each death by suicide during the 48 hours, 24 minutes and 15 seconds that Dan worked continuously to create 4,356 ceramic pieces.

Dan’s ceramic installations draw from varying points of personal experience and significance. By utilising the fragile and precious nature of ceramics, he addresses sensitive historical events as well as cultural and political issues within contemporary society. His work aims to bring viewers into a gentle space of contemplation and reflection, a space where you are surrounded by the 4,356 ceramic pieces that represent the lives lost to suicide during the completion of his artwork. Come listen and engage in discussion about Dan Elborne’s work and the work of White Wreath Association.
