Artist: Belinda Smith
24 August 2019 – 3 May 2020 | McAuley Gallery
Social Enterprise Partner: Outland Denim
Outland Denim trains and employs, on a living wage, vulnerable women and girls at their ethical clothing production base in Cambodia.
In Blue-Jean Sisters Artist, Belinda Smith has used the rag-doll to highlight the innocence lost for so many girls around the world who are forced into slavery and prostitution.
Through a crowd participation project, the artist has educated people and encouraged them to use loving hands and open hearts to create a Blue Jean Sister. The total number representing the women and girls saved by one rescue organisation in one year.
