Situated within the former All Hallows’ Convent, Adderton: house & heart of mercy will open to visitors in 2018.
Overlooking the Brisbane River, with expansive views of the Story Bridge, Adderton—renamed in 1863 as the Convent of Our Lady of Mercy, All Hallows’—has been at the heart of the Sisters of Mercy’s work in Brisbane since 1863.
The rejuvenated Adderton: house & heart of mercy will be a multi-use art, exhibition and ideas space grounded in the values of creativity, diversity and inclusiveness. A new program of events and exhibitions will introduce visitors to Mercy history and the legacy of this unique Brisbane landmark.
Once we have opened, you’re welcome to journey behind the stone wall on Ann Street to discover a sanctuary of inspiration, beauty and serenity.
For now, keep up to date with the latest news about the project and learn more about the rich and complex history of Adderton and the people who lived here.
